With fluctuating water levels and increased usage, the Prelude and Prosperous Boat Launches are due for replacement.
Prosperous Boat Launch The proposed upgrades would include the existing boat ramp and dock being removed and replaced with a new structure a few meters to the south. The new ramps would extend further into the water and a new dock will be placed in between two single boat ramps.
Prelude Lake Boat Launch The proposed improvements could include the expansion of the existing breakwater to provide a turning area for vehicles and trailers. A double boat ramp would be placed at the end with two floating dock sections on either side of the ramp. The existing boat launch would remain in place during construction and for continued use for smaller boats.
Next Steps
The GNWT has collected feedback for consideration from the public as the project moves to the design phase.
New drawings will be shared once they are available to inform those interested ahead of the construction process.
