The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is developing a new Development plan for the Fort Simpson Public Airport. The purpose of a Development Plan is to promote growth along with guiding present and future airport development.

It provides recommendations, analyses, and policies for future development at the airport – typically for a 20-year period.

The plan also provides information on changing demographics, economics, and other areas of consideration.

The current plan was drafted for 2001 to 2021 and is now in need of an update.
