The program is full-time.

In December 2022, the NWT’s first-ever Post-Secondary Education Act and regulations came into effect. The PSE Act establishes how these institutions receive a Letter of Authorization in the NWT so that residents can be sure they’re getting high-quality training and education at a recognized school.
When post-secondary education institutions want to provide a new degree-granting program in the NWT, they complete a System Coordination Application. The application is publicly posted by the GNWT for 15 business days to allow the public and NWT post-secondary education institutions can provide feedback that will be considered in the review process.
The System Coordination Application from Vancouver Island University can be viewed here.
Anyone seeking further information on the submission should contact the institution directly.
Next Steps
The Quality Assurance Review Advisory Committee will review the application along with any public input and make recommendation to the Minister of Education, Culture and Employment.
All post-secondary institution applications, and the decisions on the application (granted/not granted) will be listed on the ECE website here.
