Background
The past few years have been challenging, with rising costs in key areas such as healthcare, public sector growth and expenses to respond to natural disasters straining the territory's budget. The work leading to the development and tabling of the 2025-2026 Budget will be critical to improving the territory’s financial position.
The Budget Dialogues 2024 are an opportunity to share your views on how the GNWT can ensure every dollar is spent in the best way to support the Priorities of the 20th Legislative Assembly and our territory's needs.
Next Steps
The 2025-2026 Budget will be tabled during the May/June 2025 Session of the 20th Legislative Assembly. A What We Heard Report summarizing key findings and recommendations will also be released to the public in Fall 2024. The information will be used to help ensure that every dollar spent translates into meaningful improvements in the daily lives of our residents.
