Overview
The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) sought input from Sahtu residents in Norman Wells and Fort Good Hope on the Oscar Creek Bridge relocation. The Oscar Creek Bridge will be relocated three kilometres upstream of its current location in the Sahtu Region of the Northwest Territories.

Meetings were hosted in each community and were be an opportunity for the GNWT to provide an update on the project and discuss the preliminary bridge design, while receiving feedback.
Two engagement sessions took place:
- Norman Wells, NT April 25, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. – Royal Canadian Ledion, Melnyk Hall
- Fort Good Hope, NT April 26, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. – Band Office Hall
Submit written feedback by email.
Written feedback was accepted until May 25, 2023 by emailing INF_Communications@gov.nt.ca.
Background
The new, permanent bridge will provide a safe and reliable method of crossing the Oscar Creek and will extend the winter road season, increasing the window-of-access for industry and residents. Connecting communities will encourage more social opportunities, access to health care facilities, sporting events, and traditional land use areas.
Next Steps
Feedback collected at the sessions and by email will inform design choices and the development of the future all-season Mackenzie Valley Highway.
