There were two rounds of engagement:

• January to March 2015
• October to November 2016

2015 engagement

Open house sessions were organized and advertised. Workbooks were also available, at the meetings and on-line, that participants could complete. A summary report was produced for all public engagement undertaken in 2015, as well as separate What We Heard reports for each of the community engagements:

2016 engagement

In October and November 2016, the Department of Lands completed eight engagement sessions in seven communities across the NWT.

Public engagement focused on the vision, goals, and supporting priorities of the draft Framework. The objective of the engagement sessions was to confirm whether participants thought the draft Framework was “on the right track,” and whether it reflected what the Department had heard during the previous engagement completed in early 2015.

A summary report was produced for all public engagement undertaken in 2016.

The findings from these engagements helped inform the Recreational Leasing Management Framework.
