The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is in the process of improving its websites. Residents have told us that organizing information around departments, divisions and units is confusing and difficult to use. So, we’re going to organize content around themes, topics, and tasks instead. We have a draft of those themes and topics, and a plan for where content would show up. You’re invited to help us test our assumptions, and make sure that the way we’re organizing content will be easier for residents.
The activity format is a series of questions that will help us determine what works well, and what can be improved. There are no right or wrong answers. The activity shouldn't take longer than 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
Your response will help us organize the content on a new GNWT website and determine if this menu structure helps you find the information you need.

This activity will be open from February 19 to March 5, 2025.
The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) wants to improve GNWT websites for residents. In the first phase of this project, residents were invited to complete a survey and participate in focus groups about how to improve Government websites. A total of 136 survey responses were collected, and six focus groups were completed with different audiences. Feedback collected through this engagement is summarized in the Government Website Usability - What We Heard report.
Feedback from residents in the first phase of this project helped inform the new website menu structure which is now ready for testing.
Next Steps
Data from this activity will be used to organize our content around topics, themes, and tasks, and will inform the design and development of an improved GNWT website. A summary of responses and findings will be published at a later date.
