The GNWT will use the survey to better understand people’s experiences with mental wellness and substance use supports. It is open to everyone, whether you have used supports or not. Questions focus on three main areas:
Access and equity: Whether people can access the support they need, and what barriers different groups face when trying to get help.
Preferences: What types of e-Mental Health tools people prefer, and the kinds of aftercare support they find most helpful for substance use health.
Satisfaction and outcomes: How well Community Counselling, Facility-Based Addictions Treatment, and 811 services are meeting different people’s needs.
Together, this feedback will help show how well services are working for people and where support is missing. This information will guide improvements to better meet the diverse needs of NWT residents and make programs more accessible and culturally safe.
Have Your Say
The survey runs until April 24, 2026 and is open to everyone, whether or not you have used these services. Residents can respond on behalf of a child, dependent, or someone they support as a service provider.
You can also request a paper copy from your local health centre or Community Counselling Program office.
Next Steps
Take the survey and share your perspective, we are gathering feedback from residents to help shape mental wellness and addictions recovery services.
The deadline to participate is April 24, 2026. After the survey closes, the GNWT will review all responses and use them to identify barriers, improve access, and strengthen supports across the territory.
