Collège Nordique Francophone has submitted an application to deliver a new Business Administration Techniques diploma program in the Northwest Territories. If approved, the proposed program would begin in September 2026
The Business Administration Techniques diploma would help students understand how organizations are run and how to support business operations. Graduates would develop skills to help plan, organize, direct, and control the operations of an organization to achieve its objectives.
The program would be offered in partnership with Collège La Cité and delivered remotely through La Cité’s teaching platform. Students would have the option to reserve a room at Collège Nordique Francophone to attend courses online. The program would be open only to Canadian citizens and permanent residents
The proposed diploma program would include:
Training in core business functions, including organizational operations and administration
A mandatory internship of 420 hours, providing hands‑on work experience
Flexibility for students who are already employed to complete the internship in their workplace, with employer consent
Internship opportunities with Francophone organizations in the Northwest Territories, Yukon, or Nunavut, including community organizations.
Have Your Say
In December 2022, the Northwest Territories’ first‑ever Post‑Secondary Education Act and Regulations came into effect. These guide the Government of the Northwest Territories’ work to build a comprehensive post‑secondary education system.
When a post‑secondary institution wants to offer a new program in the NWT, it must submit a System Coordination Review Application. The application is publicly posted by the GNWT for 15 business days to allow the public and NWT post‑secondary institutions to review and provide feedback that will be considered as part of the review process.
The System Coordination Review Application from Collège Nordique Francophone can be viewed here.
Feedback can be submitted by email to: advancededucation@gov.nt.ca by June 10, 2026. Anyone seeking additional information about the submission should contact the institution directly.
Next Steps
Following the consultation period, the Quality Assurance Review Advisory Committee will review the application along with any public input received. The committee will then make a recommendation to the Director, Private Vocational Training, on whether the application may proceed.
All post‑secondary institution applications, along with final decisions (granted or not granted), are posted on the Department of Education, Culture and Employment website here.
