Team NT at the 2026 Arctic Winter Games in Whitehorse

Team NT participates in major multisport games, including the Arctic Winter Games, Canada Games, North American Indigenous Games, and Canada 55+ Games. These events provide opportunities for athletes to compete and develop, bring communities together, and support active living, cultural connection, and wellness across the Northwest Territories.

The GNWT is seeking input from residents, athletes, coaches, families, and partners in response to rising costs, system pressures, and questions about access, participation, and eligibility.

This engagement will help identify what is working well, as well as challenges, gaps, and emerging opportunities within the multisport games system. The input gathered will support ongoing planning and help shape the future direction of Team NT and its participation in multisport games.

This Survey will close on July 15, 2026.

After the engagement period, the GNWT will review all feedback received to identify key themes and areas for consideration.

A “What We Heard” report will summarize input from across the territory and will be shared publicly. Findings and recommendations are expected in fall 2026 and will guide future approaches to Team NT programs, policies, and participation in multisport games in the NWT.
