The Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (SCAP) is a 5‑year federal, provincial, and territorial investment (2023–2028) that supports the growth, sustainability, and resilience of Canada’s agriculture and agri‑food sector. In the Northwest Territories, SCAP is delivered by the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) to support local producers, agri‑businesses, and the broader food system.
Personal information provided in these forms is collected under section 40(c)(i) of the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act. If you have any questions about the information collected in these forms and how it is used, please contact Melvin Leonard, Assistant Director, Strategic Communication at melvin_leonard@gov.nt.ca or (867) 767-9202 ext. 63038.
Background
To support the development of the Next Policy Framework (NPF), which will follow the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership from 2028 to 2033, the GNWT is seeking feedback from residents across the Northwest Territories, including farmers and producers, agri‑businesses, Indigenous governments and organizations, industry groups, and community members with an interest in local food and agriculture.
This engagement is intended to gather input on what is working well under the current program, as well as challenges, gaps, and emerging opportunities facing the agriculture and agri‑food sector in the Northwest Territories. Your feedback will help guide program adjustments and inform GNWT discussions with federal, provincial, and territorial partners as work continues on future agricultural policy frameworks.
Next Steps
This Survey will close on July 5, 2026.
The results of this survey will be used to inform development of the Next Policy Framework with Canada, and the other Provinces and Territories. If approved by all Parties, the Next Policy Framework for Agriculture is expected to start April 1, 2028.
