Working with Indigenous government, Indigenous organization, and Renewable Resource Board partners, we have developed a plain language summary of the policy intentions of a proposed new Forest Act.
This work has in part been informed by feedback received during public engagement on a proposed new Forest Act that was carried out in 2018.

- November-December 2022: Consultation with Indigenous governments and Indigenous organizations and public engagement
- February 2023: Introduction of a Forest Act Bill and release of What We Heard Report
- February-August: Standing Committee Review of the Bill and opportunity for public hearings
- August 2023: passage of the Bill
